WGU Indiana Offers $16,000 in Tuition Scholarships to OneMain Financial Employees

EVANSVILLE — WGU Indiana made $16,000 in scholarships available today for OneMain Financial employees across the nation. Eight scholarships will be available, at a value of $2,000 each. WGU Indiana announced the scholarship at a check presentation at OneMain Financial’s largest corporate office in Evansville, Indiana.

“OneMain Financial provides responsible lending to our customers, and by promoting the higher education of our employees, we’re ensuring our customers receive the quality assistance they deserve,” says Deb Fleck, OneMain vice president and director of human resources. “Education is of the utmost importance to us and we truly value our ongoing relationship with WGU.”

As a WGU corporate partner since 2015, OneMain Financial employees enrolled in any of WGU Indiana’s degree programs also receive a five percent discount toward WGU’s tuition of approximately $6,000 annually. Twenty-five OneMain Financial employees nationwide currently are enrolled as students at WGU and eight have graduated from the online university.

“We value our corporate partnership with OneMain Financial and are very pleased to offer these scholarships to the company’s employees,” said WGU Indiana Chancellor Allison Barber. “With OneMain’s tuition reimbursement program, WGU Indiana’s tuition discount, and now these scholarships, higher education is affordable for more OneMain employees. WGU Indiana’s online degree programs are designed to be flexible enough to meet the needs of busy, working adults who want to return to college.”
