Ann Marie Walker of Griffith thinks of her mother a lot, but perhaps no more than she will on September 27, commencement day for WGU Indiana students. After several years of coping with family health and financial challenges, Ann Marie is graduating and is fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher.

WGU Indiana is highlighting one of our students, Kim Tucker, an employer at Elkhart General Hospital which is a part of the Beacon Health system. Kim is striving toward the RN to BSN degree. Kim found out about the WGU Indiana opportunity about two years ago when the Executive VP of Nursing sent an email out about WGU.

As a college graduate from a state school in Indiana, I did what most students do and started working full time. I wasn’t sure at the time if I was done with school or if the challenge of furthering my education was still a potential goal. What I did know was that student loan payments would start six months after graduation, and there would be no way to pay them without a full-time job.
